Jenny Hacker

I have been an artist and maker for over 40 years.I received my MFA from California College of the Arts.AftergraduateschoolIstarted my own clothing design house in San Francisco. I made and designed clothes for 15 years. While exploring how fabric is made, I became interested in felting which led me back into making art. I use felt as a medium for sculpture combining it with materials such as plaster and wood. I listen to how the materials behave, what they are and what they can become.

Maricris Briones Hansen

Maricris Briones Hansen is a contemporary abstractartist who creates vibrant collages and paintings that use color as the primary entry way and touch point. Maricris loves exploring the space between seeming opposites—emotion and intellect, surrender and control, organic and geometric. Her simple, distilled compositions evoke a sense of energetic equilibrium, using intuitive forms that integrate the accidents of torn paper with the intentionality of lines sliced by a razor blade. She passionately believes that art and the act of creating deepen our personal and collective connection to what it means to be human, particularly at this moment of profound societal and technological change.

Maricris lives in SanCarlos, California with her family and holds a B.S. in Journalism and a B.S. in Political Science from Northwestern University
