Art at the Intersection of Instinct and Intellect

August 4 - 27, 2016

Opening Reception:
Friday, August 5th from 6-9 pm

We invite entries in any medium for WILD/MIND at GearBox Gallery in Oakland, CA. Submit work exploring two fundamental sides of being human – wild being the animal, primal, instinctual side; mind being the logical, & abstracting side. One connects us to nature, animals, the planet, to the universe. The other enables us to separate, to analyze, assess, conceptualize, create. Do you strike a balance between the two or privilege one of these essential aspects of our humanity over the other? Where do you find the intersection of instinct and intellect?
